Judy Moran found not guilty in Des Moran murder trial. Rogue hippopotamus implicated.

Crime matriach Judy Moran has been found not guilty in the Des ‘Tuppence’ Moran murder trial after lawyers proved witnesses to the shooting weren’t able to tell the difference between Moran and a large African hippopotamus.

“There’s not a shred of evidence to prove that the getaway car involved in the shooting of her brother-in-law, ‘Tuppence’ Moran was driven by Ms Moran. In fact, we proved it was highly likely a 1400 kilogram hippopotamus wearing a bad wig and sunglasses was the real getaway driver, and is possibly still at large today. Any similarity between Moran and the alleged hippopotamus is purely co-incidental. This is simply a case of mistaken identity,” claimed her lawyer, Enrico Polazzo.

Police records from the night of her arrest supported her defence, with 3 different witnesses unable to pick Moran from a lineup that included a hippo on loan from the Melbourne Zoo, a 1200 kilogram Kodiak bear and US comedienne Roseanne Barr.

Moran was reported to be relieved with news of the verdict, and was looking forward to a holiday at the family farm in Healesville.

Police are investigating several leads in the hunt for the hippopotamus allegedly involved in the shooting.
