As Cyclone Yasi bears down on a frightened Queensland population, several news anchors have suggested they were “..prepared to kill innocent civilians if the cyclone deathtoll didn’t start soon.”
As a precaution, Queensland police have detained Karl Stefanovic, Tracy Grimshaw and David ‘Kochie’ Koch as their flights landed in Queensland this afternoon in preparation for live reports from the expected scenes of devastation on Thursday morning.
Witnesses say police boarded several planes upon arrival and restrained the television hosts.
Passengers claim when police quietly asked Kochie to accompany them off the plane he attempted to run from the plane.
Several officers fired their tasers at Kochie, who collapsed on the tarmac and was cuffed and bundled into a waiting police van and driven away.
Flight attendant Enrico Polazzo told reporters that he heard Kochie screaming “BLOOD! MY FANS DEMAND BLOOD!” and was swinging a 12 inch hunting knife at police before being tasered.
“He had that look in his eye.. you know.. like he was loco or hiding something. He kept muttering things like “Pensioners want bodies, not boats at 6am” and “Daddy said crying wins the Gold Logie”. Really crazy shit. I just threw a bag of peanuts at him and hid behind the drinks trolley,” said a shaken Polazzo.
Police said the news hosts would be kept in separate detention cells until the cyclone danger was gone, and release them in time to interview the inevitable “Aussie heroes of the storm”.
