The Kyle and Jackie O radio show, facing mounting criticism over its handling of child rape and host Kyle Sandilands beard, was today suspended by 2Day FM.
The show has been under a cloud since last week, when a so-called ‘stunt’ involving a raped child, a dolphin, Kyle Sandilands haircut and a chocolate eclair got out of hand and landed the pair in hot water.
Austereo, the owner of 2Day FM, has been inundated with calls for the show to be axed and the hosts forced to ChaCha on Dance your Ass Off, Channel Nine’s flagship reality show for embarrassing morons.
After a lame on air attempt at an apology, and several attempts to blame the media for making a mountain out of an idiot, Kyle Sandilands reportedly initiated the suspension himself when he turned up to work on Friday with a note from his doctor which stated: “Kyle can’t come to work anymore as he has been diagnosed with Sooky-lala’s disease.”
Austereo shares climbed 34% with the news of the suspension.
