Channel Nine, suffering through a ratings slump of epic proportions, today announced it had decided to axe its entire Thursday schedule, replacing it with 21Â hours of static.
Nine, who today also axed new US ‘reality weight loss/fat people embarrassing themselves’ show “Dance Your Ass Off” after airing just a single episode, said that their entire lineup was returning poor figures for a Thursday, so the easiest thing to do was just axe the whole day, rather than try to chop and change the scheduling.
Additionally, Nine indicated that it’s Wednesday schedule would also face some minor changes, with “Two and a Half Men” repeats replacing every show from 3am through to 7pm, when the regularly scheduled double episode of “Two and a Half Men” would remain as normal, to be followed with a further 4 hours of “Two and a Half Men”, then continue with Infommercials from midnight for the Ab Circle Pro, the Flavourwave by Mr. T, and the Cuddlee Miracle Blanket with Sleeves until 3am Thursday morning, at which point the station would be switched off and staff sent home until 12am Friday when the normal Infommercial schedule would once again resume.
Nine would try the new revised schedule “..for at least the next few months, to see how it goes down with our loyal viewers,” said Nine spokesman, Edward ‘HootsMan’ McQuilter, “but we don’t think they’ll really notice the changes to be honest.”
