The Walking Dead picked up for 12 more seasons of wandering around in forests, meeting bad people and shit.

Senoia, Georgia – The Walking Dead, the iconic show about the rise of zombies after an unexplained virus decimates society, has been renewed for another 12 seasons. Producers for show made the announcement today, after convincing AMC that each episode only costs “like $300 or $400 per episode, mostly in fuel to power the generators and provide sandwiches ..” said Enrico Polazzo , Executive Producer.

“The actors have been shooting in the woods of Georgia for so long, they’ve forgotten where they live and don’t even check if they’ve been paid anymore.”

“We decided to tell them the apocalypse really happened years ago and the rest of civilisation is gone. They just shrugged and insisted they keep shooting. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, actually looked happy when we told him.”

There are currently 13 sci-fi shows and 12 movies shooting in Georgia, a location popular with studios for its cost cutting benefits.

“Every sci-fi show or movie starts shooting in a city or urban location, but quickly moves to the rural areas of Georgia to keep costs down. City streets crowded with zombie extras, or UFOs crashed into skyscrapers, shit like that eats through your budget. For the cost of one episode of CSI: Miami, we can film 130 episodes of malnourished survivors running through trees, crossing bridges, hiding behind trees, battling enemies who have forgotten how to speak fluent English in 5 years, chopping down trees and making forts from trees. We’ve got scientists working on how to make the trees edible, right now. They get that figured out, we could go 100-150 seasons easy” said Polazzo.

The Georgia Forestry Association welcomed the move, claiming the influx of studios shooting in the state was the only thing propping up the American Timber Industry.
