Local Fashionista Finds Old Leather Sofa Resembling Donatella Versace

Local fashionista Viridian P. Jarlsberg, yesterday announced to the world that she had discovered an old leather sofa that unmistakably resembles famous 55 year old Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace.

“My husband was organising the hard rubbish for the yearly council collection, when he called out to me ‘Hey, Viridian! We’ve got an old sofa that looks like that guy Donatella Versace!‘ We had put it in the garage years ago. I think the dogs used it as a bed.” said Jarlsberg.

Viridian instantly recognised the face of the Versace empire head in the couch’s worn, wrinkly, deformed, tanned surface.

Telling only her closest friends, and making an anonymous post at the www.fashionistasforethiopia.com forums, she originally thought nothing more of it until fashion devotees from all over the suburb started turning up to Jarlsberg’s modest 2 bedroom home in Brunswick, Melbourne, begging to see the sofa.

Some of the visitors are claiming it to be the definitive re-appearance of technically still-living Donatella Versace, and have attributed several fashion-miracles to it already.

One visitor, seen leaving an offering at the foot of the sofa, said “I was floundering with this beige trenchcoat and I just knew that I needed something to tie it together with my plaid three-quarter pants and Louboutins, but no matter what I tried it just didn’t work. Then I heard about the ‘Versofa’ as it’s now being called online, and I knew that it would give me the answer. After spending just 3 hours in private with the sofa I was struck with divine inspiration and I just KNEW that an Oscar de la Renta Mixed-Media Scarf for only $2,500 from Neiman Marcus online was what I was missing all along! Now I look fabulous again! Thank you Versofa!”

Viridian has the Versofa for auction on Ebay. The price at time of reporting was $35.70 with 27 minutes to go. She is hoping for a last minute bid “..of at least one million dollars” from Donatella. “I’m sure she’s just waiting for the last 10 seconds to bid, like I do.”
