NRL Star in Shock Switch to AFL! Pope Angered.

The AFL and NRL are in turmoil today, with 22 year old NRL player Karmichael Hunt announcing his shock code switch to AFL.

Hunt, full back for the Brisbane Broncos, stunned team mates, coaches and NRL fans with his decision. Many believe the switch will be impossible to pull off, and “..will end in friggin’ tears mate, mark my word!” said McGarnacle Evans, Hunt’s biggest fan and 2 time convicted stalker.

Coach of the new Gold Coast Football Club,  Guy Macca McKenna O’Shaughnessy said he had complete faith in Hunt’s ability to translate his naturally ability at NRL to a promising career with the AFL and Channel Nine’s The Footy Show as a guest panelist.

Brisbane Broncos CEO Bruno Barnsey Blokey O’Cullen, however believes it will be a very difficult road ahead for Hunt. “He’s f*@king nuts mate! It’s a totally different game! The balls are a completely different similar shape, they kick at different times for different reasons, they pass the ball differently, and the ground doesn’t even have corners! How the f*@k will he know where the bloody end of the field is? He’s a bloody reckless lunatic, and a lot of people are gonna get hurt mate!” said O’Cullen.

Hunt disagreed, claiming “I’ve been studying the AFL game for about 7 years now by watching The Footy Show every Thursday night, and I reckon if I can get my beer consumption up a bit I’ll have the ‘blokiness’ bit downpat. Coach reckons with daily training, increased ecstasy consumption and a bit of trackwork I can be ready to play a couple of quarters and make my first ‘Sam Newman joke’ in around 2 years.”

Hunt faced a setback later in the day during a training session setup for the media cameras, when he became confused over whether he should handpass the ball in AFL or NRL style, resulting in 2 broken legs.

The Pope, leader of the worldwide Catholic Church, released a brief statement that indicated he was dissapointed with Hunt’s decision. “Switching codes is an unholy abomination, an unnatural act and would not be sanctioned by the Vatican.”
